Food Metric is a privacy-first grocery scanner that helps your household check packaged foods for allergens, avoided ingredients, additives, and nutrition signals. Most preferences and scan history stay on your device — no account is required for everyday use.

Common topics
- Setup & profiles — Add household members and select allergens or ingredients to avoid during first-time setup. You can change these anytime in Preferences.
- Scanning — Point your camera at a retail barcode. If a product is not found, try again in good lighting or check that the barcode is readable on the package.
- Subscriptions — Food Metric Premium unlocks unlimited scans, product compare, and full catalog browsing. After your initial full-access period, you can subscribe or continue on the free plan with limited features.
- Restore purchases — Open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. No Food Metric account is needed.
- Cancel a subscription — Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. We cannot cancel on your behalf.
- Privacy — Allergen and dietary preferences are stored locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- Health sources — Scores and additive notes cite public agencies. See Health Sources for FDA, EFSA, IARC, and methodology links.
